You may be dealing with obstacles in life that may affect you mentally and emotionally. It may be life stressors, grief, or trauma that you may need help processing and healing from during this time. There's been a stigma placed on therapy, but wouldn't it be nice to have someone that listens and someone you can be vulnerable with? I want to help you navigate through what it was, what it is, and what is to come, one step at a time. I believe that it is my duty to support and empower you while you create your peace.
I have a Bachelor of Human Environmental Science in Early Childhood Education from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. I obtained a Master of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University in Phenix City, AL. I am currently licensed as an Associate Counselor.
During my time working with individuals, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, service members, adults, as well as the geriatric population. I also have experience working with families on healthy communication, teen behaviors, as well as parenting, and appropriate discipline.
My specialty areas include but are certainly not limited to child's behavioral dysfunctions, grief and loss, coping mechanisms, self-esteem issues, family issues, anger management, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I utilized therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. No matter the therapeutic approach, the goal is to help you live a more meaningful and calm life.
